[London] Duck & Waffle - Best Place for Breakfast in London

Sorry for the hiatus but I've been traveling for 2 weeks in Europe starting with a short break in London before heading up to Scotland! Even though I only had one free morning in London before catching the 9AM train to Edinburgh, I had to make a visit to Duck & Waffle - the highest restaurant in UK with superb views of the city from the 40th floor. What's better is that the restaurant is open 24/7 so you can eat here at anytime of day! I came here to grab some breakfast before my train and rode what must be the fastest elevator ever as it only took 38 seconds from the ground to the restaurant. The views from here are unparalleled with unobstructed views from all sides and a close up of The Gherkin. I had made reservations via email ahead of time but didn't seem to need it as the restaurant was pretty empty at 7AM on a Sunday morning.

The main dining room featured an open kitchen so you can see the chefs in action.

The restaurant also has a full bar and lounge area near the entrance for those that would like to pay a late night visit. 

I was here to try its famous namesake Duck & Waffle (£15) with crispy leg confit, fried duck egg and mustard maple syrup...and the hype is real! Each ingredient was well-executed especially the syrup which tied the savory and sweet ingredients together perfectly in my opinion. Just looking at this is making my mouth water again. 

If only I can eat this for breakfast everyday!

At first I couldn't decided which Belgian waffle to try but the staff recommended the Bananas Brulee (£10) with homemade Nutella, vanilla ice cream and peanut crunch which was simply irresistible especially with the perfectly crunchy caramelized bananas! Yes I ate this for breakfast. 

Verdict - if you are looking for a place to eat breakfast with amazing food and beautiful views of the city, then Duck & Waffle is the place for you in London!
