[Hong Kong] San Xi Lou 三希樓 in Times Square Causeway Bay!

After traveling outside of Asia for a while, I always crave for spicy food and there's no better way to satisfy that craving than with San Xi Lou's new branch at Times Square in Causeway Bay! It's been years since my last visit to its original branch at Mid Levels and I'm glad there's a more convenient location now with new exclusive dishes like Baked Crab with Five Peppers and two new hotpot broths. Compared to its flagship, the sister restaurant is more modern and contemporary while retaining Chinese elements in its decor.
For my meal, I got to try a variety of its Sichuan dishes as well as its famous hotpot offerings. We kicked off with the signature Minced Pork Dumpling with Spicy Pumpkin Soup which was legitimately spicy - they don't alter the level of spiciness either so it's not for the faint-hearted.
The crowd-pleasing signature Sichuan Style Stewed Cat Fish is another must-try at San Xi Lou.
With temperatures dropping recently, it's the perfect time for hotpot and we tried two flavors here - the new exclusive Spicy Bandit Chicken Soup and Soup with Chicken in Hua Diao Wine. With super fresh ingredients like the sliced Anodonta, sliced supreme beef, soy bean rolls, 4 types of meat balls, and organic vegetables, I enjoyed the hotpot immensely especially with the new spicy bandit chicken soup.
