[Shanghai] 2* 102 House 壹零貳小館
Rating: 4.5/5
Hello Shanghai! I was in China for 10 days eating my way through Shanghai, Chengdu and Kunming with my dear friend and local expert Jocelyn. We started our gastronomy trip in Shanghai where quite a few of the fine dining restaurants we visited had amazing views of The Bund - plus the level of food and service far exceeded my expectations as well. Our first meal in Shanghai was at the highly anticipated 2* 102 House 壹零貳小館! Originally located in Foshan, the restaurant was started by Chef Xu and his business partner with the goal of reviving ancient Cantonese culinary traditions. I loved my meal there 4 years ago (still remember the sunflower chicken and estuary crab roe!) so I was looking forward to this meal. The new location in Shanghai is sleek and swanky with many private rooms - ours even had full frontal views of The Bund. The cooking and execution are still exceptional - highlights included the shishi chicken from Guangzhou, signature sweet & sour pork, crispy golden box with mud crab, and crystal prawn.
