Follow me to Gucci Osteria in Florence! Gucci Osteria is a series of contemporary Italian restaurants by Chef Massimo Bottura of 3* Osteria Francescana in world cities - each with its own varied identities while sharing the same culinary philosophy. The restaurant in Florence is helmed by power couple Karime Lopez and Takahiko Kondo who hails from Mexico City and Tokyo respectively. Together they combine influences from their heritage with the finest Italian ingredients to create dishes that are highly creative, elegant and playful. It was a fantastic meal where the punchy Mexican flavors and Japanese sensibility balanced each other out perfectly!

The meal started with a cheeky “coffee” and “cannoli” which were actually savory, followed by a brilliant take on the classic prosciutto and melon combo in the form of a chilled pasta. The red prawn with its tempura was easily a favorite along with the playful fried “ravioli” with a Gucci logo on top. Another highlight was the “Yellow is Bellow” which stimulates all senses with a perfume that recalls happiness, accompanied by a delicious yellow crisp filled with tuna belly and Chianina tartare.
